Questions

How is Pro billed?

Pro costs US$49 per month and includes up to 3 hosts. Each host after the third adds US$19 per month, so 4 hosts cost US$68 and 5 hosts cost US$87. You choose the number of hosts at checkout and can change it in Manage billing. Prices exclude tax.

What crosses the wire?

Your agent sends scheduling metadata: organisation (or owner/repo for a repository scope), job IDs, runner labels, job status, host capacity, disk space, agent version and update state, and update and provisioning error text. GitHub sends the control plane workflow_job events with repository and workflow names, run IDs, results and timings. Your GitHub App key, runner tokens, source code, secrets and build logs stay on your hardware. Runners connect directly to GitHub.

What happens if the control plane is down?

Running jobs finish. They talk to GitHub, not to ushr.io. ushr does not dispatch new jobs until the control plane is back. Queued jobs wait in GitHub's queue.

Can I self-host instead?

Yes. The controller and agent are open source under Apache-2.0 and free to run. ushr setup runs both on your own machine. Then the controller and the agent send no data to ushr.io. The installer still downloads releases through get.ushr.io by default. See the GitHub repository.
